Baudette is known as the Walleye Capital of the World. It is located just south and east of Lake of the Woods on State Hwys 11 and 172. Just west of Zippel Bay State Park and north of Beltrami Island State Forest on the border of Canada this area offer outdoor enthusiasts many activities from which to choose. The Pier is located on a tributary of the Rainy River, the Rainy River then flows into Lake of Woods. The tributary, Baudette River, is locate just a short distance from the point where the two rivers meet.

Buadette has many stores from which you can shop as well as a Casino close by operated by the Red Lake Nation. Big box stores are not available unless you want to drive to Bemidji or Thief River Falls. All types of bait and tackle shops can be found in the area.
