Located off the first lake of eleven flowing into the crow wing river which is a tributary of the Mississippi this lake offers anglers the chance to catch walleye, northern, large mouth bass, and sunfish. The pier like many found in Minnesota is part of a complex which includes an interpretive explanation of the lake, boat landing and fishing pier. The lake encompasses almost 15 hundred acres with water clarity of almost 17 feet. The lakes depth reaches 56 feet and has 22 miles of shorelines.

Description

Nessled in the trees alongside a swim area, picnic shelter, and boat landing visitors will find the fishing pier.  The accessible parking spot is located in very close proximity to the pier so visitors will not have as long a distance when bringing fishing equipment and themselves out to pier.  The pier jets out onto the water supported by rectangular plastic pontoons located under the pier.  The wooden pier is a

In Akeley, from Hwy 34, go north on Co Rd 23 1 mile then turn left onto Lake St, follow this to the boat landing which will be following the residential homes along the lake. If you should come to the Camp Ground Office you can ask for directions, the fishing piers are located following the camp ground. The road leading to these areas rings the lake at a high elevation above the camp ground, swimming beach, picnic area, fishing pier, and boat landing (order from closest to camp ground office to County Road 23.

Amenities

Akeley, MN and the surrounding area have many small tourist type shops to visit and summer activities from which to choose. Park Rapids is the closest larger community with big box stores (18 miles on Cnty 34). Bait and tackle shops can be found within the city.
